Ompulence Mindful Movement
Terms & Conditions
In-person courses (Singapore)
Terms & Conditions,
in plain words.
These are the terms for booking an in-person course with Ompulence (Carol Cheong). They are written to keep things fair and clear for both of us – so you know what to expect, and we do too. When you book and pay for a course, you agree to what follows. If anything is unclear, email enquiries@ompulence.com – we are happy to help.
These terms apply to our in-person courses conducted in Singapore.
Good to know — 30-second version
- Read (health and safety) before you book – especially if you have a health condition.
- Our classes are small and book up in order — once full, that’s it.
- Anything worrying you? Email us. We reply within 2 working days.
About your booking
Your place is confirmed when your payment comes through. Until then, the place is not held — the group is small, so early booking gives you the best chance of a mat.
The course fee includes all sessions and the equipment we use (mats, foam rollers, bands, gliders and balls). Everything is provided each class, so you only need to bring a sports towel and a yoga mat.
- Early-bird pricing ends on the date shown on the course page. After that, the normal fee applies.
- The fee shown when you book is the fee you pay — it will not change later, even if the published fee changes.
Paying for your course
You pay online by card when you book, through a secure payment provider. We do not see or store your card details — the payment provider handles them, and you’ll see their receipt in your inbox.
If you have trouble paying online, email us and we’ll work something out.
About refunds, transfers and next intake
Payment confirms your place in a small class, and we hold that mat for you. Because the group is limited, course fees are not refundable once payment is made.
Instead, you have two options, and we will help you with both:
- Transfer to another person. You may pass your place to a friend or family member before the course starts — as long as the course suits their level. For safety reasons, they must be able to take part in this class. Just email us first, so we can update our records and send them the registration form.
- Join the next intake (if you have not started your current course). You may move your booking to the next intake of the same course, when dates are released — as long as there is a mat space. Just email us to arrange it.
If something serious came up — an injury, an illness, an emergency — talk to us. We will always try to find a fair solution.
If we need to change or cancel something
We plan carefully, but things happen. Here’s our side of the promise:
- If we must cancel the whole course (too few sign-ups, the teacher is unwell, the venue closes, or new rules from the authorities), you get a full refund or a place in the next intake — your choice.
- If a single session has to be cancelled, we’ll add a replacement session, or give you a small credit for that session.
Missed sessions and lateness
Each course runs on fixed dates, and the fee covers those dates. If you miss a session, it is not refunded and there is no automatic make-up class. Maximum 2 make-up classes can be arranged with Carol if you miss a session due to medical or emergency situations.
If a mat is free in another intake, we are usually happy to let you catch up there — just ask, and we’ll do our best.
Please arrive 10 minutes early so you can settle in. If you arrive after the warm-up has begun, the teacher may ask you to watch that part and join at the next exercise — it’s for your safety.
Health and safety — the important one
Movement should feel good, not brave. A few simple rules keep everyone safe:
- Before the course starts, we’ll ask you to fill in a short health form. Please be honest — it helps the teacher adapt the class to you.
- If you have a health condition, take medication, or have had surgery, and you’re not sure whether movement is right for you, check with your doctor before booking.
- If you are pregnant, tell us when you book. You’ll need your doctor’s okay before joining.
- Come to class only when you feel well enough. If you have an injury, acute pain, or an illness — rest first, then come back.
- Pain is a signal, not a goal. If an exercise hurts, stop, and tell the teacher. We will change it for you.
- When the teacher asks you to rest, slow down, or sit out an exercise, please follow. It’s for your safety and your long-term progress.
Our responsibility and yours
Ompulence is a movement and wellness practice — not a medical service. Our classes and advice do not replace medical diagnosis or treatment, and results vary from person to person.
We take reasonable care to run every class safely, and we keep our equipment clean and well-maintained. You take part voluntarily and at your own risk. We are not responsible for injuries or losses caused by things we cannot reasonably control, or by health conditions you did not tell us about. Where the law does not allow liability to be limited, it stays exactly as the law sets it.
If something feels wrong in class, speak up during the session, or email us right after. We would rather fix a small concern early than hear about a big one later.
A few easy ground rules
- Wear comfortable clothes you can move in.
- Please avoid strong perfume — the studio is small and shared.
- Keep your phone on silent, and leave your space tidy.
- Please don’t record or photograph the class without asking first — your teacher and classmates deserve privacy.
- Treat the people on the mats around you with kindness. We are all here to feel better.
Photos and videos
We sometimes take photos or short videos of classes, to show what mindful movement looks like on our website or social media.
We will ask for your permission when you sign up. You can say no at any time, or ask us to remove a photo of you — just email us.
Your personal information
We use your details to run the course: to plan the classes, keep you safe, and send you updates. We do not sell or share your information with anyone outside what the course needs.
Payment is handled by a secure payment provider, so your card details never reach us. We keep your details only as long as needed, then we delete them.
You can ask at any time to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it removed. Just email us.
The fine print, kept short
- We may update these terms from time to time. If a change affects you, we’ll email you in advance.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
- Course descriptions and our advice are guidance — not a promise of results. Bodies are wonderfully individual, and how quickly things change depends on you, your history, and how often you practise.
- If you have a concern about a course, talk to us first. We listen, and we will do our best to put it right.
